Mountain bike racing is a fascinating experience, with adventure and excitement at every turn.

The Downhill racing is generally held in steep, downhill terrains, resulting higher speed and adventure.

The ‘Super D’ is a blend of Cross Country and Downhill ridings. Depending on the trial or the race venue, the riders can start in short intervals, or they can run to their bikes together. This unique type is called ‘Megavalanche’.


The Free ride competition is a starting point to execute your skill. The courses contain various cliffs, drops, obstacles and ramps.

The Dual Slalom is a ski inspired event, with a knockout planning. Here the ‘dual’ races are similar, where a couple of riders share the similar track.

The ‘Marathon ‘ is perhaps the toughest form of mountain bike riding. The race is held on mountainous terrains, and the riders have to cover almost 80 kilometers in one race. Recently, there has been a huge enthusiasm centering the Marathon World Cup.

Moreover, the multi-day adventure in remote wilderness, also called ‘Epic Riding’ is picking up.


The Things That A Biker Would Need

The mountain biker would need certain things while riding:

1. A ready bike, with other equipments like helmets, shoes etc.

2. Water or carbohydrate drink

3. Bike tools, or repair kit

4. Another pair of clothes

The technical parts required are:

1. Spare tube

2. Tire levers

3. Mini pumps

4. Mini tool

5. Patch kit

6. Camera

These are the few vital tips that a biker needs to follow:

1. The biker can take a pre-ride in order to get practiced beforehand

2. The rider should concentrate on planning, how to apply his full strength.

3. It would be better if the biker takes his meal atleast two hours before the race starts.

4. 20-30 minutes warming up is mandatory before the start.

5. Stretching would be beneficial before and after the warm-up.

6. Be present at the starting line 20 or30 minutes before the start.

7. Take a couple of paddle strokes and then click into it.

8. Get the Carbon Dioxide out of your lungs
